The Wheel continues...

Universal Pictures has obtained the movie rights for "The Wheel of Time" fantasy series by the late Robert Jordan. And the final book is slated to be released in Fall of 2009. Squee!

Oh, they pushed it to fall/09. It was originally slated for Q1/09. Hopefully the new writer will do a good job. This is my favorite fatasy series of all time.

Have you read the George RR Martin series, A Song of Ice and Fire? If you haven't you really, really, really should.

I have read it, I think I like it better for its complexity, but the Wheel Of Time for its breadth and character development.

I've only read the first Wheel of Time novel. I really need to give the second one another shot. I've just been intimidated by the size of the series and I'd heard it kind of runs out of steam in the middle.

7, 8, 9, are definitely slower, but it picks up after that.

Thanks for posting this. It made my ex squeal with delight. Every time one of his new books came out she would read every book in the series over again. Looks like she's going to do that one more time!
